This is the most famous taxi company in Saigon. The price is more expensive than Uber or Grad normal rate, but this is trustworthy company to deal with.

This taxi company was recommended to my partner and I from our hotel, Polygon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh as a reliable and trustworthy company to use. On arrival to the Giant Ibis Bus Terminal (approximately 1km from our hotel) , we spotted a Vinasun taxi and jumped in. We were only in the taxi for 5 minutes in total and when we got to the hotel, the driver demanded 20 US dollars from us. We asked him why it was so expensive and he kept shouting 20 dollars. After paying him as we didn't have much choice because we had to pay the fare, we were still very unhappy and sceptical regarding the price. We spoke to the staff at our hotel and they were very shocked claiming it should be about 5 dollars for such a short journey. His taxi number is 6704. I would like this fraud to be addressed and my money returned as this is an absolute disgrace! Makes us want to leave what first appeared to be a lovely city, due to getting absolutely ripped off the moment we arrived! I expect a reply as soon as possible as I am very upset! How many other innocent tourists has he ripped off as well? 😡

The worst experience we could have in Saigon. Tried two different Vinasun taxis and one driver tried to drive as long and complicated as possible.
The other even worse, he got out of car saying that his working day finished and another driver came to continue the trip but he grabbed my friends wallet as if trying to help us to pay the right fee but actually he quickly took out $200 and tried to hide below the towel that he kept on driver's sit and asked for additional 100 000 dong. Luckily we understood what's happening and quickly moved the towel and found the money... we stoppend the car and left and this person even didn't want to accept that he did smth.wrong... very sad that such people spoil the overall impression of the cuty.

I was grabbed by the taxi drive who tried to drive me to a unknown location and detain me in the car - I was a lone female. I did try to post a review on trip advisor however this was not possible for reasons I do not understand. These taxis are advertised as regulated drivers, well I am sorry to say it is far safer to download UBER and get Vietnam sim card than get in these green and white taxi's. Uber drivers have a set GPS and clear record of who they pick up etc - rated and a lot safer with no confusion. I had a vinasun taxi driver pretend to be the uber I ordered, I showed him my phone with the order, he said yes he was my uber taxi.
I was annoyed because when I entered this taxi, my uber also came up to the hotel, I did not now this and the vinasun taxi driver spoke to my uber taxi driver in Vietnamese - no doubt telling him I was not his customer. My uber called me as the vinasun taxi was driving me away asking me something - it was clear at that point I was in the wrong car - but still too late.
Then when I checked my GPS he spoke in broken english as i complained he was driving me away form my destination, he did not care if I called the police and proceeded to grab me. I fought him off. Worst of all before getting into his vehicle a cheap hotel staff indicated this was safe to enter and having checked trip advisor about these taxis, I went in without asking the taxi driver to show me his phone. My error. Still the car haunted as I was trying to pull away from his grip and I screamed and shouted - he seemed to care little and still held me firm and would not let go. Luckily a security card from a car park came by as he heard me shouting. I finally was released from this man grip as he was surprised about the security guard and then ran to safety - the taxi driver played it cool as if it was some dispute about pay. The security guard even though could not understand my english was not so falling for it. Anyway in the end the taxi driver drove off - he knew what he was doing or trying to do. I was lucky because if I did not check my gps, if there was not security guard near by and I let him drive further out of the city l would have no idea what would happen.
I am warning all lone females do not get in to these taxis, they firstly overcharge all tourist by 300%, they are not honest and there is no record of who they pick up. My uber taxis rely on good customer feedback and have a clear record of previous customers and clearly show the customer the GPS route they drive.
The UBER taxi should have on his phone your order number and always check the registration plate. I felt safe with UBER in HCMC and I had friends who expressed they were blackmailed to pay vinasun when in a group because they drove unnecessary long routes or played with their own metres.
This was the only bad experience I had visiting Vietnam and my hotel concierge was lovely in checking all the uber taxis I took - it was a more upmarket hotel.
I am not saying alll vinasun taxi men are going to grab you, detain you and violate your physical space and try to drive you away. I am saying this happened to me - just one week ago and it was a shock to the system to fight off a mans grip. He lied and was intelligent enough to know he could get away with it.
Uber is the safer option in my personal experience - so please ladies if you are travelling alone - download the app, ask the reception staff at what ever place your at to speak to the uber driver to make sure he understands the pick up.
