A nice experience in the old quarter. A gritty place but Hanoi is like that everywhere. Food was amazing.

(This rating is not for the food, but for poor communication and also a warning about TripAdvisor map links) We were looking fo another restaurant (“Gia ngu”), but for whatever reason the default google map link from trip advisor landed us here. We showed the name and address in Vietnamese to ask the staff if we are at the correct place; he answered “yes, yes” (probably not intentional because he looked busy, but not true, unfortunately). We thought maybe Gia Ngu rebranded and changed cuisine completely.. and we were too tired to move to another place. This could have been a nice sea food restaurant, but a bunch of the ingredients we asked for were running out... it was only 7:30pm... Unfortunately I’m not a sea food person, but they ran out of their only non seafood protein (i.e., chicken...) We ended up having a simple, short dinner... and only after we walked out and around a bit more, realized the correct restaurant was next door (with a very low key entrance). Overall a frustrating experience. Posting here in case anyone else would fall into the same “unintended” mistake.

Reasonable price. Food is not bad. Staffs are friendly

Omg. The worst customer service ever! I don't expect much customer service here in Vietnam but this was beyond the line. The waitress took my order who made a mistake by ordering QTY 2 rather than 1. I placed a plate of sea snail and glass noodles with crab meat. When the same dish(sea snail) came again, i told her it was not mine. Then she told me to have the dish. I firmly refused to have it. No apologies and she seems pretty upset with me. That point i wanted to leave the place asap. When i went to the tillto pay, the lady at the till(seems the owner) didn't even give a glance and carried on whatever she was doing and i waited until she finished. No look just facing downward then i gave her the exact money for the bill. No even a word came out from her mouth.
I never experienced such rudeness.
She probably wanted to charge me twice of the dish. What kind of people seriously.
After reading others reviews, i just realized that she didn't offer me the basket of prawn crackers. I thought i needed to order it as i saw all other local customers were having them.
The food was quite good so if they were nice people, i would happily go back but never ever again.
