The restaurant that I come with my mother a trip to countryside. The quality of dishes is quite good, but most of them contain snakes. So, if you are a person raising awareness about environment protection and wildlife like me, you might not like it.

They could not speak English at all. They kept saying snake, snake! Which is fine if you want snake. Its about all they can cook here, after my GF tried various other things off the menu. I wouldn't have minded so much, but the preparation of the snake lacked showmanship, if you are going to do a bit of a show, you need to announce it. I looked up from my conversation to see them half completed! Like come on guys! We then were served by a waiter who was very insistent on us to eat and drink immediately, sometimes good service means to give the customers a little space to take in the experience. It was quite quick fire (perhaps because it was empty) we had 6 waiters, which was very intense.

We then had another couple from Vietnam walk in. They had the same ritual, but the presentation and preparation was much more dramatic and stimulating. I decided to take some pictures, but was shouted at by the Vietnam gentlemen who was on a date with his girlfriend.

The food itself was nice, but the service was too intense. Focus more attention on the snake and the thrill at the start. Then service the courses and leave the customers with the ability to enjoy, take pictures and absorb the experience.

Great little spot. They bring out the cobra and kill it in front of you before preparing about 5 different dishes out of the meat and bones. It is quite expensive compared to everything else in Hanoi (50usd for one snake) but I could feed 3-4 so not too bad. Don't know how the price compares to other restaurants but we had a great time.
