The staff is warm, comforting, and caring. Finding a lump is so stressful, and the staff picked up on my stress and was there for me. I would recommend them to anyone.

I had a biopsy on my first visit and was treated fabulous by Miss Jill and Miss Krista and Dr Perrico. Every part of the procedure was explained . I felt confident all was done with the privacy I expect. I will go to this center for yearly checkup.

I'm a large breastfed women, very shy
Everything was fine till I went in to have the mammogram
They had me remove my robe and I stood there not knowing what to do for 10 min.
Exposed and embarrassed. It was terrible for me. So I crossed my arms and waited more then she took ex rays. What is purpose for standing there like that

As I am sitting here watching the news this Sat. morning, they have two doctors discussing the importance of breast cancer awareness. Specifically mentioning that it is important to have both a mammogram and an MRI. This is just not sitting well with me. Let me explain: my mother has had a lump in her breast for 10 months. She just told us a month ago. She has resided in Fl. for the past 15yrs; but has recently moved back to Ohio to be with her family. Her plan was to stay in each location 6 months. The winters are just too harsh for her here. We were all very excited that she would be with us for Thanksgiving this year, the first time in 15yrs. However, yesterday I learned that she is returning to Fl. at the end of Oct. The reason...because she can not find a Dr. here that will even do tests to determine what the lump is, or how severe! We called the Joanie Abdu center. Initially, we were told that all that was needed was her Dr in Fl to fax order for testing; after they were received, they would get her in the following week. What actually occurred: after receiving orders (the very next day), they called my mom 3 days later and informed her that the Dr would be out of town and she couldn't be seen until [maybe] the end of the month. It is so large it is visible through her sweaters-and it has grown larger since she told us about it! I am appalled and outraged that this can occur, and does! Every time I now see anything to do with breast cancer awareness, I want to just scream and cry! I am fearful that my mom will have a horrible outcome from what they find when she returns to Fl.; and she will be down there without family to comfort or care for her. How can something like this happen in this day and age? During Breast Cancer Awareness month?? She had her Dr. in Fl. fax orders to this breast center as requested, and still was unable to be seen by their Dr. I am beside myself that they would not even just order the tests. It is outrageous and should be a crime. Let's get this side of the story out there-because the medical field is still unfair to women. I am not ready to lose my mom; her life is important and vital. Please, this needs to be addressed. The medical field needs to answer for this horrendous and inhumane treatment of my mother. Oh, not that it should matter, but we all know it does, she has excellent health insurance. Thank you for your attention to this serious matter.
