The best Krav Maga school in the area!
My daughter has been training here for 3 years with amazing results. Juan is very encouraging and passionate about his school and he invests all his energy in each student. He believes in them. He can be tough, but he needs to be to teach the art of self defense.

I joined Englewood Krav Maga with an intention of learning self defense two months ago. Little did I know that this school would change my life.
Having injured my back during child birth recently, my general fitness level was laughable ( yes, my idea of exercise was a pint of ice cream and a walk around the block).
Sensei (Mr. Juan Berrios) and Traci run this school with a lot of commitment to their students and to the art of Krav Maga. Sensei works with you, at your fitness level to get you to a point where you get better with each class. He gives you a 100% ( no fluff!) and expects nothing less out of his students.
In the last two months, I have noticed a significant change in my fitness levels and I continue to to stay committed to learn and get better at this art. I went in to learn self defense and I have learnt so much more in the form of commitment, mutual respect, humility and focus. Thanks to this school, Krav Maga has now become a way of life.

Here you'll get a Martial Arts training experience like no other. I have about 14 years of Martial Arts experience and this place tops any school I've ever been to. The instructor is passionate about what he teaches and assures that what you are learning will be useful in the streets. There's no magic here, nor pampering. If you're looking to get in shape and really really learn how to defend yourself, then this is definitely the right place...

I had a terrible experience at the Krav Maga. Juan, the owner and trainer has a very poor temperament and gets frustrated very easily. I signed up and paid the one hundred dollars fee (approximately) for the first month of training. The first lesson was okay, but I felt a little intimidated by his demeanor, as he is somewhat aggressive. During the second lesson he suddenly turned to me in midst of the lesson and in front of everyone threatened to kick me out, if I didn't follow his instructions. I had no idea what I had done wrong and was of course following his every instruction. Regardless, for the remainder of the lesson I felt very uncomfortable. Needless to say, that was the last lesson for me, and I never returned.
My one hundred dollars went to waste.
Obviously Juan has some anger issues and gets too intense during the training. When you pay for a class, you hope to be treated respectfully and not to be intimidated. I recommend to look elsewhere for a calmer and less temperamental instructor.

Englewood Krav Maga has been a great experience from the very beginning. I figured I would just try it out a couple of times at first and now I'm hooked. Instructor Juan's no nonsense yet fun attitude has really pushed me beyond my limits. It's been a few months already and I feel healthier, stronger and more comfortable that I can protect myself and my family. Thank you!
