Dr. Holmes' bedside manner is absolutely wonderful and her ability to give painless shots in the gums, makes her a Superhero (in my mind at least 😂)! I hadn't been to the dentist in several years because I didn't have insurance. I was on Medicaid and made an appointment but I was really nervous and didn't know what to expect. After my first visit, my fears were put to rest. She talked about a treatment plan to fix several teeth and referred me to an oral surgeon to have one tooth that was broke of at the gum line, surgically removed. She wanted me to start with a good tooth cleaning but assured me we'd do it in multiple visits and they could numb me, of need be. I was happy for that, but not excited about the shots! On the next visit, that fear was put to rest as well! I don't know how she makes it possible, but after the first shot, I totally relaxed and unclenched the arms of the chair, because it didn't hurt a bit. Not a single shot did. I had two appointments and then my surgery with the oral surgeon. After the tooth removal, I ended up with dry socket. The oral surgeon wouldn't prescribe more pain meds without seeing me and I had no way to get to Wilmington that day. Dumb me didn't think to call Dr. Holmes! So I just cried myself to sleep that night and swished with warm salt water and used Motrin, Tylenol and orajel any time I woke up. My husband works for AutoMaid (his step dad owns it) and they just so happened to be cleaning Dr. Holmes' vehicle the next morning and told her about my dry socket. She had me in by the afternoon! She cleaned and packed the socket after getting me numb (amazing once again) and sent me home with more pain meds. She also told me to never suffer through that kind of pain again, to call the office even if it's after hours! I saw the other dentist once and he was just as good as Dr. Holmes at giving shots! Sadly not long after my dry socket, I lost my Medicaid. By the time I got it back, I was tired of going thru issues with my teeth and ended up going to affordable dentures and got all but 2 of my teeth removed. Let me tell you, that dentist could use some lessons from Leland Family Dentistry on giving shots!

My kids love her. I know my kids are safe and in caring capable hands while she is treating them. I would use her myself but I'm exceptionally happy with him.

Tried to make an appointment with this dentist in august, they pushed the appointment to December moving it time after time, finally I got to the appointment in december and was told that they had moved it again because they had made a rule saying they wouldn't accept another dentists xrays and I would have to wait until march or pay out of pocket for new xrays I called their head office after the receptionist Beth became belligerent and rude and attempted to blame the office's conduct on myself. The head office woman I spoke with told me "she was sorry I felt" they had done what they did do. She then told me to seek another dentist, simply because I said that her apology was not sincere and what they had done was wrong, because I am disabled and had to travel by bus 2 hours one way to make the appointment and they didn't call me and tell me they wouldn't see me. They then sent me a letter stating they wouldn't see me and are denying receiving my x-rays. Avoid this office as if they would lie and do this to me they would no doubt do it to you. Edit: Go across the street to Brush Dental much much better.

The staff was great! From the time I walked I the doors, I felt like I was treated like a person and not just another patient. The Doctor was amazing. She took the extra time out of her day to make sure I fully understood the deal work needed. She went above and beyond by calling and assisting in scheduling a surgical procedure that I needed to have done. I have to admit I was nervous about going to the dentist but, I can truly say this place Rocks. My entire family are now patients and all of them have been extremely happy with the Doctor and staff. *very kid friendly!!

I first came to Leland family in January. Due to my lifetime of excessive soda drinking, I had a mouth full of cavities! During my first appointment, the hygienist was very dedicated on improving my oral health; the doctor explained my treatment and well educated me on the cons of sodas and it's domino effect. As I had to return for multiple visits to complete my treatment, the assistants really did a great job making me feel comfortable and they let me watch everything they did to prepare for the doctor. Very fascinating!! Now that my treatment is completed, I am now on a great oral health path and will continue to use them as my primary dentist! I highly recommend this office for your cleaning and treatment needs.
