This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a Doctor and office staff.
I saw Dr. Louis for the first time in August. I am a type II diabetic and wanted help with managing my diabetes. She gave me some information about healthy eating and told me she was going to send my file over to an endocrinologist and they would be calling me to make an appointment.
About a month later I found out I was pregnant. I still had not heard from the Endocrinologist. I called Dr. Louis' office and made another appointment with her to discuss the pregnancy. We discussed general pregnancy questions and she sent my file to the endocrinologist again with a rush on it because I was pregnant.
I saw the endocrinologist 5 times before finding out that my insurance claims had been denied because Dr. Louis' office filed the wrong insurances as primary and secondary. The office staff, specifically her billing staff, were extremely rude about this. I was told I was making their jobs difficult by having two insurance carriers and that it shouldn't be legal for me to have two. Because of the misfiling of the insurance, Dr. Louis was going to need to write me retro-active referrals for the appointments I already had with the specialist as well as referrals for future appointments. I was told by Dr. Louis' staff that she would not write the retro-active referrals but she would write one for future appointments. I checked with my insurance provider who said there was no reason she should refuse to write the retro referrals and if she was concerned about it she could call the insurance company and speak to a representative about it. Shortly after I received a letter stating that Dr. Louis was dropping me as a patient for "failure to follow medical recommendations." This is very clearly just an excuse because she does not want to deal with the insurance matter.
As of today she has not written the retro referrals OR the one she told me she would write for future appointments. Because of this I have had to cancel future appointments with the specialist. I am a pregnant diabetic currently unable to see my specialist because of Dr. Louis' actions.
I would not recommend this Dr. or office to anyone. The staff is incredibly rude, the extremely limited office hours make it difficult to schedule an appointment if you have a job, and God help you if you have any unique circumstances. This office is more suited to help completely healthy people when they get the occasional sniffles, nothing more.
