Really good food. Very friendly and respectful staff. Medium-sized portions. The only issue was that it took a while for us to get the dishes. But again, we went there during the peak hours on a very busy day.

Unless you have been to India there is nothing as delicious as Taj of India. Food is so tasty and delicious I am still thinking about it. The spices on the Tiki Marsala were so good. Wow - the ambiance is excellent especially the night we went and sat outside. Every thing from the delicious breads to the service was 5 stars. Excellent excellent place and I am a restaurant owner myself. Excellent food at a good price.

I wouldnt even give this place a 0 star as it deserves a minus infinity. The waiters here are the rudest people I have ever encountered (except one person who was nice). The other two were extremely rude and disrespectful. The food is just about average but what really is appalling is how the waiters conduct themselves. Not surprised to find that I am the not the only person who has made this observation. They lack basic manners and are especially rude to you if you are a south east Asian. The differential treatment was clearly visible. Also, the service is so slow that it is unimaginable. They ignore you, dont make eye contacts, take ages to take your order and its an even longer wait to get your food. Repent going here.

Visited D.C. Recently with family. While walking around looking for a place to eat, we came across Taj of India. When we ask the hostess if the food was spicy, she said yes and we were starting to walk away as some of the family was hesitant because of the food being spicy. That's when the owner noticed us starting to walk away and insisted we try the food. When he asked why we were leaving, we informed him that the hostess told us that the food was spicy. He confirmed that the food was spicy but not all of it. After insisting us to come in we agreed. They treated us like royalty, the Waiter was awesome. He walked us through the menu. They even brought out some food we hadn't ordered for us to try on the house. Everyone was super attentive. The ambiance was clean and relaxing. The owner checked on us all night and our waitress made sure we all got food we would be able to eat. I would definitely recommend this place and if we ever go to D.C. we will be stopping in to visit.
