Let me first say that Sweet Greens literally put me on the track to better health. I have been going to Sweetgreens all across the DMV and go out of my way to look for one close to anywhere I go. This was my first time at this location and I was looking forward to a meal after a day of walking around in the beautiful weather. However I was disappointed by my experience at the Georgetown location. I walked into SweetGreen and asked the patrons in in line (mostly white with a few Asians) if they were in line and waited my turn. When it got to my turn the young lady behind the counter totally ignored me, passed me over and asked the white man who was to my right and slightly behind me what he wanted to order. The white guy told the young lady that I was next and it was only then that the young lady looked at me and asked me what I wanted. Since I could actually see them making my salad, I kept my professional hat on and gave the girl my order. She did not apologize or anything. Just started making my salad. I kept a close eye on her as she made my salad. The worst part about it was that she was also African American. This was not the first time I have experienced this kind of racially based disservice and disrespect. I am not truly sure exactly what the girls motivations were on that day. For all I know she could have woke up on the bad side of the bed. However the fact that she overtly ignored me, and no one else, the only African American in line, to Service the white man behind me without any explanation or apology, leads me to believe that it was purposeful and racially motivated. The food was good as usual but I will not be coming back. Customer Service is everything to me.

My first time at a Sweetgreen was a weird experience. Got the fast-food McDonald's treatment from employee 'Ashley' who was in a ridiculous hurry - even though there was not a single person behind me in line at 8:30pm. Noticed the customer in front of me had their food made by a worker who took his time and asked them "how was your day?" Simple things can go a long way - no matter how short the wait is to be served.

Why can't they put on Google maps that they are closed for renovation??? Would have been nice to save a trip.
