I️ always likes this place. Delicious food, nice staff. And Wednesday’s the do have a karaoke upstairs.

The place is getting worse every year I come for my friend's birthday (I don't eat here otherwise). The food is missing key ingredients, the tea is served with lukewarm tap water, other hot dishes served barely warm. The worst part of the experience is staff. They all seem like it's their first day on the job - constantly forgetting to serve glasses for champagne and wine, forgetting orders of food all together and NEVER cleaning the table from the used and empty plates. DJ on Saturday (11/4/17) was not good either (this is a matter of taste, but most people noticeably did not dance to his electronic tunes).
Overall I would not recommend celebrating your important day at Mari Vanna. I hear they have OK brunches, but I won't be checking on that myself. Also - overpriced.

The check brought in a coin purse and the genuine Ukrainian and Russian candy was such a nice touch. The food and beverages are delicious, and as a Ukrainian native I felt so pleasantly surprised and comforted by a wave of nostalgia. I will say that service was a touch slow if you are expecting to be in and out...prepare for a long yet lovely meal accompanied by accordion music!

We have dined out at many restaurants in Washington, but this was I think the first time I felt like I was in another country.
On the one hand, this was really fun, on the other hand, it felt a little bit spooky--like I was at Rick's Cafe in Casablanca! Intrigue at every table.
The food was quite tasty. The best borscht I've ever had (not that I have had a lot of borscht) but this was really good), wonderful dumplings, a delicious mushroom main dish.

Good place, so many people, nice music. We spent great time there. Tasty food!!! Traditional original greeting for your birthday. I recommend it.
