I went in today around 3 in the afternoon and seems like they were in between rushes. The server was polite and gave me adequate time to peruse the menu. She brought over a complementary platter of humus, cucumbers seasoned with pepper and bleu cheese dip. The service was good and it rotated between her and the owner asking me if everything was to my liking. I ordered the gyro platter and the calamari appetizer. The calamari was nice and tender with fairly good seasoning throughout and the breading was crispy. I doubt they were frozen otherwise they would be chewy and rough. They however were a bit greasier than I like but that didn't affect the taste at all. Just after i finished them you could see there was quite a bit of grease on the plate. This could be rectified with how the cooks prepare it in the future. My main dish was great, the meat was tender and well seasoned, all the veggies in the salad were fresh, crip and tender. The rice was nice and fluffy but could of used more seasoning. Overall a pleasurable dining experience with good prices. I docked one star for the greasy calamari and the semi-bland rice. Will visit again.

Not what used to be. The wife and I loved this place. It had so many things going for it. The food was awesome. They always bring a pita plate. The pitas were always fresh and soft with hummus, etc. The food was bountiful, and the gyro meat was the best it town. I loved their salads. When you ordered low carb, you got a nice plate of food. It also had this Greek atmosphere, decor, etc., that made you feel you were eating at a more expensive resturant. What happened? The fountain in the front of the store was replaced with a picture of water? One wall is now covered in white plastic. The open kitchen is now enclosed, making the place feel smaller and it lost that intimacy and accountability you felt between yourself and kitchen staff. And what is that blue thing in the front corner? How does that fit in any decor? Or the Christmas snowflake lights, are those permanent? The music playing while we were there was Turkish pop. Huh? What about Greek? Then there is the food. The pita was hard. And the food was ok, but not what we had come to expect. The gyro meat was overdone. We had with a salad, but there was no red onion in the salad. So in all, it was a disappointment.

We were over charged for our meal. Service was awful. Go to Papuiles Greek Restaurant at Foothills Mall. Great food, great service, better prices!

The portions are big and very filling. The prices are vvvvery reasonable and the food quality is excellent. Never had a bad meal and never had bad service. Highly recommended this family owned gem.

While I do agree the service wasn't the best, I don't think it was a big deal (at least to the point where it significantly diminished my dining experience). The food I had definitely outweighed any mediocre service we received. For one, the variety on the menu is really good with a lot of authentic Greek option as well as Americanized Greek options, as well as lots of vegetarian and gluten-free options, if that floats your boat. I had the vegetarian moussaka, which was very tasty with every bite being unique. It also came with a good helping of salad and rice, that made the size of the meal as a whole very good. The prices were about average, but pretty fair. While the service at Opa could certainly be better, the food outweighs any other downsides of the restaurant
