I made an appointment to see a nutritionist for my daughter through St Francis and in addition to a one-on-one consult about proper nutrition, I was given the name of Dr Goularte, a bariatrics specialist at tall grass, to help advise and guide my daughter through new eating and exercise habits. Dr Goularte is very compassionate about weight issues and thorough in explaining crucial parts of successful, long term weight loss. It doesn't always have to be surgery to lose weight. There are many simple changes in diet that have helped my child lose weight in a healthy way, she is down 13 pounds the first month and all we changed was milk to carbmaster, making sure to eat breakfast, and protein, protein, proteiny, protein. I would highly recommend an appointment with Dr Goularte whether you're considering weight loss surgery or wanting to get slim but need professional guidance and advice. The Tallgrass office staff and nurses are all friendly and kind, too. Just wonderful A+++++

Dr. Bernstein was absolutely amazing!! I had RNY gastric by-pass in July of 2007. I weighed 498lbs the day of my surgery and am now maintaining a healthy 182lbs. I could benefit from skin removal but that's very expensive and not covered by my insurance so as I said I'm a healthy 182lbs and extremely happy!! I was very fortunate to not have any problems related to my surgery post-op. It's a life changing event. You have to commit yourself to knowing if you sit on your butt and eat the wrong foods you're going to fail. The surgery is a tool and when used correctly you'll have success. It's all up to you. Dr. Bernstein is truly dedicated to helping you succeed. She's one of those Dr's who takes the time to get to know you. She's patient, kind and courteous and all of those things were very important to me. I would recommend her and all the Dr's in her office for they are just as incredible. You can tell when someone truly loves what they do and she does!!
