I went to Yogani for a year while we were renting an apartment in the area. The instructors are absolutely top notch! They are professional, knowledgeable, and extremely kind. The classes are demanding and will help you to grow your yoga practice. I loved that you can take a variety of different yoga practices in one studio.

Best yoga classes in Tampa. Lisa Jameson is phenomenal

Disappointed. All my friends & several acquaintances (Annie's friends, as well) go to this studio. I have been to 3 Bikram classes at different points in time. All 3 times the temp was not even close to 100 degrees, much less 105. One time the heater broke (understandable, but 1/2 price or announcement on FB would have been nice, as it's a 15 minute drive for a standard class) other two times was not the case. When I emailed Annie I received no response or refund or any Bikram classes to make up for this. Lack of temp, lack of response/professionalism is why I give this place a one star rating.

I've been to this yoga studio three times and it is, quite frankly, the worst studio I've ever attended. To begin, the bathrooms and "showers" are disgusting and unclean. The instructors are critical, rude, and do not allow students to have a pleasurable yoga class. Specifically, this is what happened when I attended a 12:15 Power class on Friday, 6/24/16. The instructor was nit-picky and talked WAY to much, as if she just liked to hear herself speak. The class was labeled "Power," yet we mainly stayed on the floor with bolsters and blocks for 1 1/2 hours. She criticized and tore apart practically every move I did. I've been to another class (9 - 10:15 am) in which a different instructor ended the class at 10:05, therefore not teaching for the scheduled length of time. I could go on and on, but I will leave it at this. And, I will not attend this studio EVER again.

There are a lot of good things about Yogani, but it provides a very specific kind of experience and attracts a very specific clientele. The facilities are top-notch, providing amenities like a shower (way too rare around Tampa!) and rooms with fantastic atmosphere.

But the mindset here is, let's say, particular. If you're not ready it might be jarring, and if you're not their kind of person you might not be able to stick around long term. Specifically, this is NOT the kind of yoga studio where you'll find a particularly open and inviting community. This place is run as a business above all, and it shows in everything they do. The instructors are generally very professional, but a few of them can verge on snobbish. The classes are in general fairly challenging, though they tend to be pretty same-ey over time, and as someone who has been practicing yoga for about five years, I was rarely truly challenged, surprised, or inspired by anything I experienced here.

The clientele is what you would expect from that description, and about what you'd expect from the South Tampa surroundings - a lot of very beautiful people with the time and money to take care of themselves. My impression was that they're mostly there to get in shape, with a little dash of self-help on the side - this is not a place where you're going to get much truly in-depth engagement with yogic philosophy, at least not in the regular classes.

Ultimately, my main caution would be that I really would not recommend this place for an average beginner, as I think they could be scared off by the tone that's being set. For someone who is pushing themselves to better their yoga practice, there's a lot on offer here, but unless you fit the profile of upwardly mobile WASP you might feel even more out of place than you would at the average yoga study, which is pretty white and privileged to begin with.
