My father, Rev Hani W. Khoury, was Pastor at the James Street UMC from June, 1970 - June, 1976. Have a lot of good memories about the church. The Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF); The dinners; Mostly the Christmas Season - My dad was born in Bethlehem, Palestine. Christmas was always a special season for our family, and my dad did his best to make it a special season for everyone in the church. The church was packed on every sunday. Except during summer when everyone went on vacation. The elderly women always tried to out do one another in bring good food to the Spring (Easter), Mid-Summer, Harvest (Thanksgiving)...MYF did that one, and Christmas Dinners. It is an Era that has gone by, BUT an Era that can still be in this New Generation.
