Didn't like or dislike...my 14 year old nephew and I went to the 6:00 mass. Maybe I just need to attend a morning mass, this one was all college kids which isn't horrible, but I found it hard to engage or feel any connection whatsoever. It's just very different than Catholic Churches I've attended in the past. I hate to say "boring" because it is church, but I need to feel moved in some way and I just didn't at St. Matthews. I'm definitely going back a few more times to see if it was maybe my mood or perhaps it being a holiday weekend that made it feel so drab...it really just felt very mechanical.

Meh. St. Matthew's is a boring church. I feel like it's for displaced Catholics because we really can't go anywhere else unless you want to take a trip to Savannah. It's a very strange Catholic Church to me especially since I'm used to churches in the North. I don't feel like it's very warm at all or anything like that. Like I said, this is just a place I have to go to because the South isn't very Catholic friendly as it is Protestant.
Although, it is cool for college kids who don't want to wake up early on Sunday and don't wanna cook. Other than that, meh. Also, if you go on Holy Days be sure to go early because parking is a mess. It's just meh to me. And personally as a student it makes me feel even more homesick because I come from a place where the church has had a huge impact on communities. I feel like this church only welcomes certain people. To me, it's a real Brady Bunch, Leave it to Beaver type of church VERY whitewashed, low diversity, stuffy, and just plain dull. I only go for holy days; other than that, I just wait to go home. With places like these I can see why people convert.

St. Matthew's Catholic Church is a truly great Catholic Church. Students who are homesick often find solace in their faith. St. Matthew's has student masses that was a true blessing to my life while in school and beyond. I would recommend this Church to all.
