This place is horrible. Notice that the only good reviews are from people who were able to more so "help themselves" during their stay. My dad was here in January and they nearly killed him. The nurses don't know anything and they are slow to even administer Care upon admission. My dad was here 3 days and caught a fever and nearly died. There was a man here who did die while we were there. His wife said he was doing well when he came but when she came back that morning he didn't have his IV with his meds in it. Then he went into cardiac arrest and had to be intubated. The next day the man died because of their negligence and the wife had told us she had a bad feeling about the place. They are very incompetent and get attitudes when you ask questions simply because you care about your loved one. 75% of the time the nurses didn't know the answers. They constantly were dropping the ball. Ghetto nurses and aides having squabbles in front of patients family. Key words: if it's in the hood it's not good. Workers look severely underpaid and had golds in their mouths and tattoos on their faces. This place looked like that's where all the medical profession rejects go. If you loved your loved one stay away. We had to fight to get him out of there and they are strict on their visiting hours because at night they don't do crap!! So they definitely make family leave but we made sure we stayed cuz they were screwing up left and right. And no I don't want none of your whack representatives responding to this post with a complaint hotline number or phone number for Quality acting like you care. The quality lady looked broke down and underpaid and I have 10 years of experience in quality and honey she did not represent what quality personnel should stand for. This place needs to be shut down like their other location did and that one was in West County!!

Absolutely terrible. My Father got low quality care and the staff was not honest about his progress or activities. Please seriously consider skilled care for your loved one, these people only prolonged suffering and would not admit my Father belonged at Barnes, not this place. He may have been alive today if it wasn't for this low quality facility. In three months he didn't even receive a haircut, I did that for him. Pathetic. They are only concerned with money. They will not admit the underlying issues with the lack of real care. No wonder one of them was closed for these same issues. Too bad this one is still open.

I stayed at Kindred Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri primarily for wound care, which was exceptional. The wound care nurse saw me every weekday, and the wound care physician on staff saw me once a week. Healing is well in advance of that expected by the surgeons. The Infectious Disease physician on staff saw me two or three times a week. Broadly a nurse or CNA checked in hourly.
Communication is another strong point. The nurses, caseworkers and patient advocate were very clear from the start regarding what to expect, and also called and contacted my daughter so that family was up to speed in detail. There was a glitch or two along the way, but any issues were discussed, addressed and resolved on a timely basis
The patient liaison/advocate stopped by daily.
In addition, the food was good with alternatives for each meal and supplements to ensure nutrition needs are met.
All made for a satisfying stay.

I had a good time here. The staff is excellent, the food is great, and the guys went out of their way to give me what I liked. The Wound Care Team, Michelle and Wendy, helped me get on my way to recovery. All the nurses, especially Sheree, the nursing supervisor, and Amber were great. They catered to my needs. I would recommend the hospital to anyone who needs this type of care. Thank you, James Pinkowski.
