Neat home in the wall place that is an old favorite of mine. Food is ok, but atmosphere is what you pay for. Service can be hit or miss but mostly good.

The local vibe and the service were great but without that this place deserves 1 star. The food was an utter disappointment. The water has an undrinkable mold flavor. Fries and shrimp buster were limp and stale. The gumbo and etouffe were super bland, not even hot sauce could redeem them. The onion rings were the best of the meal, being just OK.

Service was horrible! My husband and I entered the establishment and sat right down, so there was no wait! There were only about 5 other patrons in the restaurant, we quickly ordered! An hour and a half later, after numerous patrons that entered after us received their food, we finally got ours! The waiter stated that the kitchen had lost our order! Really, how do you loose an order? The food was not that great and cold! Also, no refills, the waiter never came back to check on us! We will NEVER be back!

Have been before. The shrimp buster is great.
But this visit: I went with a group of 8. Ordered Gumbo appetizer and shrimp salad. Salad is definitely not worth the money. Tiny shrimp, no flavor, rubbery texture. Basic cheap iceberg lettuce, couple grape tomatoes cut in half, and boiled egg cut into quarters. The Appetizer(previously prepared) came much after the main course, and only after we reminded the server. Very slow on drink refills.
Love the atmosphere. Love the shrimp buster.
I know now not to go outside my comfort zone at this place. $21plus$3 tip not enough food, not enough flavor, not good enough service. Not sure why the cost is so high. Won't return soon, unless it's for hanging out and having drinks.
