We had a great time on our tour. We did the evening Ghost Tour on Friday the 13th (spooky!) and got some great stories from our driver. Our horse Teddy was a sweetheart! They gave a lot of info about some tragic and nefarious things that had happened in Savannah in the past, but also some general history alongside it. We did another tour the next day that didn't mention a lot of the interesting things we learned on the carriage tour. Give it a try!

My wife and I went on vacation in Historic downtown Savannah GA

I'm trying to figure out what kind of drugs "Robyn" is on... that story is pure fantasy and fabrication, none of that could or did happen to anyone. No employee of this company would ever say anything remotely like that, to or in front of a guest. Those horses are loved, well cared for and socialized; petting them is encouraged whether you're taking a tour or just walking by the carriage stand; and this company is meticulous and responsible about their care, especially regarding the heat regulations. A negative opinion review is one thing, a blatant set of lies is another.
BTW the heat index has rarely gone over 100° this summer, let alone 4 days in a row. The horse are hosed down every hour when the temperature is over 85°, and they go in when the temperature reaches 95°....
Every one of the tour guides for this company seems to love their job, they're knowledgeable and entertaining while still professional. It's no surprise that they are the number one recommended carriage tour company in the city.
The tours are 45-50 minutes long, depending on the horse and traffic, and generally cover the best parts of the historic district, an area still designed to accommodate carriages better than cars.

I whispered a question to the lady driving the carriage, so the other people would not here me. It was a simple question "Are the horses taken care of?" She talked to me like I was dirt, which pretty much told me what she thought of her job, and the horse. She Introduced me to everyone, and told them what I said....carriage #974 a beautiful white horse. I asked," if I could rub him," and she said, "NO, that I could support this horse by paying for a carriage ride so he has food to eat." Her actions made my decision easy not to ride. I have been staying at the Hyatt and have been watching these poor horses for four days carry people all day and night. Heat index of 107 degrees!! I can't believe this beautiful city allows carriage rides.

Our private night tour with Sarah Kate was fabulous! She was very knowledgeable about the history of Savannah and gave great information about where to eat and what to see. Sarah Kate was polite, very friendly and a joy to be with. Jake was a pretty cool horse also. We would certainly tour with y'all again on our next visit to Savannah!
