The food looks amazing, in other reviews. I got a pizza. I thought it was going to be homemade bread. I thought incorrectly.my You You would not approve the Spanokoptita, either

I don't get it. Seriously. As much as I want this place to succeed, I can't understand all of the positive reviews. Despite the gigantic kitchen space, Yia Yia's makes NOTHING on site. 'Authentic'? Okay - feta from Greece. Otherwise, everything comes off of a US Foods or Sysco truck. Premade hummus and tzatziki from plastic tubs. Fries from freezer bags. Grocery store ice cream. Sure, the pastries are nice and 'authentic', but they are made in Florida and shipped up weekly. It could be so much more than it is, but they need to hire a chef and make actual Greek food. Oh - and by 6:40 on a Saturday night, there are locked up and dark. For supposedly a neighborhood place, what an odd 'business model'. Do they not think that folks between Victory and Columbus might want a place to grab a gyro and some dessert on a weekend night? Do they care?

I had veggie moussaka, they did not have moussaka with ground beef that day. It was very good, nice beccamel sauce. I wish there had been more of it, my 3X3 piece was not enough, especially without meat, nor is there anything else with this, no small side salad, just a small piece on a piece of paper for $4.99. I tried a chocolate baklava, it was good but it wasn't fresh, it was a tad bit on the 'old' side. I will definitely try it again.
