Fell into this place while searching for somewhere to have a drink with my wife before an event. Walked in and bar was to capacity, but we were quickly engaged by one of the bar staff. I was having a little deja vu when I realized we had stumbled upon this very place before attending Beach Blanket Babylon awhile back. Service and food was excellent then, and this time as well.

Great place for dinner or drinks. Everything is really good, cannot go wrong. They also have private event spaces that can be rented out upstairs.

They had me at popover. The fried chicken doesn't disappoint but the steak tartar is the not to be missed. They have a lovely chef's table overlooking the open kitchen, get a seat if you can.

This place has excellent food but needs to take a page out of Spruce's playbook when it comes to service.
Food delivery is a little haphazard - we had to clear our own drinks, etc., to make room for the food. The staff also tried to deliver the wrong food to the wrong person at our table, which shouldn't happen at a restaurant of this caliber.
They don't run a tight ship when it comes to reservations: every time I've arrived on time for my reservation I've been told it would be a few more minutes.
The host/hostess never seems particularly worried about greeting guests either. During my recent visit the hostess walked off as soon as I came in, and when she returned to the host stand proceeded to take a 90+ second phone call before helping me.

I have been waiting to go to Wayfare Tavern since it opened. It did not disappoint. The iced tea was served with lemon sorbet and pomegranate simple syrup. We ordered 'food and wine' voted best fried chicken. It was crisp, hot and super flavorful. Deviled eggs were over the top good. The best thing about the entire experience was our awesome server. Who didn't mind our leisurely lunch and was conscience that we were catching up with a old friend. Make sure u save room for the complimentary pop overs. They were a table favorite!!
