Mostly all fried food, and pricey for it's quality. Also, the chowder seemed not very fresh, very thick as if the starches got to it. However, the clam juice was nice.

I love this place. We always bring family and friends here. Our East Coast family love the clam chowder, which says something because East Coasters can be picky about their clam chowder.

The Old Clam House was definitely the best place we visited in our short stay in San Fran!! Food was awesome and so was our waiter Zack! He was professional, very helpful and enjoyed in our sense of humor! He also dished it right back out! Zack also gets a five star!

We had a wonderful time. I had a cucumber martini that was delicious. The fish was very good the chowder was delis and seafood boil with the red sauce was delicious also. And the service was great. Thank you.

Very good old school eatery. Great seafood and throwback dishes. So much better than so many of the stupid "SF wannabe hip" restaurants that serve their tiny food on giant plates with smears of thick sauce and drops of color around it as if we're supposed to be impressed that they have squirt bottles.
Unlike those posers, the Clam House serves high quality seafood in a simple manner without skimping on portion size.
I had the crab sandwich served with Cesar salad . Very Good.
My wife had crab enchiladas that were excellent.
My father in law had calamari steak that was exceptional.
Overall, a great experience that would garner five stars were it not for the continuous loud cacophony of plates being banged together.
