Healthy California take on creole / Cajun food. While the execution is great and the ambience delightful, the food lacks the typical heartiness that make food from Louisiana unique. However, having abita root beer on tap almost makes up for it.

I was kind of full from lunch so I just had their salad, which was a perfect blend of acid, oil and pepper. Definitely tasty.

I stole some of my daughter's corn muffins. I prefer corn muffins with some jalapenos, which this did not, but I thoroughly enjoyed these. My daughter did not enjoy me eating her food.

The gumbo has just enough spice and had a great texture. Jambalaya was also well seasoned and the included chicken had a good char flavor.

We finished with the banana pudding, which was not too sweet, plenty of banana flavor and some crunch texture from the oats. Also the beignets were quite good, though I've had better at other establishments. Very worth the price though.

The price is a bit steep, but overall worth it.

What a great experience overall! Went to celebrate a friend's birthday and the food, service and ambience were superb! Food is made to order, meaning no heat lamps. You get your meal as soon as it's ready. The cornbread is so delicious! It's more of a hoe cake texture, but so good. Beignets, charred filleted and French 75 are also a must try. Everything we ordered was phenomenal. Can't wait to return!

My early experiences with he boxing room left only one thing to be desired. Now that they have added cocktails to their offerings I find this wonderful restaurant to be "the tops" in my book. 10/10 would eat fried chicken again. And again. And again.

Seriously... the fried chicken is gooood.

One of my favorite things about this place is that it is never deafeningly loud like many other places in SF. If you want to converse in normal tones of voice with your fellow diners, this is a good choice.
The food and drinks here are generally excellent. It's not the biggest menu, but almost everything I've tried I have liked. There was one time when the gumbo was not very good, but that has been the exception rather than the rule.
The space is large and open, with high ceilings. Not intimate, but still manages to feel inviting. There are a few very large tables, making this a good choice for large groups. There is also a very long bar where you can generally find a seat even if it's busy if you are dining solo.
The service is generally good (not outstanding, but good). The food is reasonably priced if you only plan on getting an entree, but if you decide to order a bunch of sides and drinks it can add up quickly.
All in all, I would definitely recommend trying this place if you like southern food and haven't been here before.
