Great podiatrist! I use to see the older doctor who retired and he was great. Dr. Blythe follows in his footsteps with really great services and skills.

I need to have neuroma and hammer toe surgery. We talked about doing them together since it was on the same foot and they were both causing pain that had become unbearable.
I was given a surgery date and time. When I asked about the cost for the procedure I was firmly told by the receptionist that they don't do the billing. First red flag. I asked who did? She said, not us. I asked if the hospital where I was having my surgery would know. She said, all she had were some codes and to call my insurance and the hospital to get the price. I called my insurance. They said no one had called for pre-approval for me to have this procedure and that I didn't need pre-approval. They told me the provider would be the only person who could tell me. Seemed straight forward enough.
Naturally, I called the hospital. I was given an estimate of $31,000. But that because the location was In-Network I would be covered. I was also informed that amount did not include the physician fee because my doctor was NOT an In-Network provider. Second red flag.
I immediately called the Doctors office. The receptionists told me she did not think that information was correct and she would call the insurance company and get back to me.
I call my insurance company again to ask what my coverage percentage is for Out of Network providers. So depending on the amount he would be billing I could probably still have the procedure. I was relieved, all I needed was an estimate of the physician fee.
I see the doctors office is calling. I was finally going to get everything worked out regarding the cost. I could not have been more wrong...
The receptionist was just calling to chew me out because she had to make a 57 minute long phone call to my insurance all the while having to help people at the front desk. She told me I wasted her time and should have checked with my insurance myself. I told her I too had been on the phone all day but I just needed the cost. Instead she cuts me off mid sentence and said, Well your surgery is canceled and your other appointments as well and hung up. That's not what I wanted. I need this procedure, I have constant foot pain.
I called back after hours to leave a message for the doctor but she picked up the phone. I told her who it was. I asked if my surgery was canceled. She said, oh yes you've been canceled.
I have never been treated so poorly by a doctors office.
Never ever go to Mission Podiatry Group. Customer service and ethics are completely unacceptable.
