Update (September 2017): seems the theater is loosing its touch since it was acquired by AMC. Downgrading to 3 stars. The line as the bar was super long and food took 45 minutes to come out. I'll still go back but doesn't have the same magic it used to.

A movie and drinks in nice, comfy seats - what more can you ask for? The screens are a bit small so don't expect the best experience for a specific effects blockbuster.

I'm as sad as everyone else is regarding the corporate takeover of this theater. The bar/restaurant area next to the balcony seating has lost its luster. No more movie themed cocktails, and a lackluster dinner menu. BUT the theater amenities are still nice, and I really like the balcony seating. I'll still opt for this theater over Van Ness any day. But if I was looking for more fun surrounding the movie, I'd probably plan to go to Alamo Drafthouse.

Excellent theatre experience. Great seats and incredible food selection. Apparently you can order in advance and have sent to your reserved seats.. I didn't do that but maybe I'll try it next time. A bit pricey but not much more than far less comfy theatres I've been to.

This place would get better of a review but I've been there four times. Food is average. Ticket prices decent. However to get food buzzer to work sometimes it is a pain. It doesn't always go off. Two hours later still waiting on food. Not a smooth transition from old owner and waitstaff to new system for AMC

The good reviews are old, before AMC bought this theater. It used to be great. It showed you the movie right when the movie was supposed to start with only 2-3 movie trailers before.

Now it's non-stop commercials for cars and fast food and things for 20 minutes before showtime, then it's THIRTY MINUTES of trailers before the film actually starts. If I have to watch an hour of commercials before the film starts, shouldn't my ticket be free? If your showtime says 2pm, feel free to get there at 2:30pm. Also, the popcorn tastes bad; burnt and stale.

This theater used to get away with charging higher prices because the experience was that much better. Now it's the same as any other AMC theater. Since that's the case, if you don't mind that kind of theater experience, I suggest paying the same or lower prices at one of the many other AMC theaters in town that have better equipment.

If you want that nice movie theater experience like the Kabuki used to have, I think the Alamo Drafthouse is your best bet.

I've watched countless movies at this theater, but it's gone sharply downhill since it was sold and as a result I think I will never see a film here again. It's a real shame.
