This bike ride is irritating as hell when I try to get home from work because they always put the route right out in front of my driveway

This used to be a great event but the last time I did it in 2014, it was a horrible experience. Very little food at rest stops. 20 minute wait in lines for water. No volunteers at dangerous intersections where there used to be. People riding with headphones and not paying attention. Speed demons clipping your handlebars on the way past. I saw several wrecks and I'm not surprised with the lack of discipline of some riders and the lack of race supervision from the organizers. Combine all this with the exuberant entrance fee and it's a no go for me again.
