I dont write alot of reviews on Google. But I happen to work across the parking lot from Buono. So I get lunch there very often. The pros: The wing sauce is great. Their wings and hot wing pizza is terrific. The sandwiches and dinners are pretty good. The pizza prices are extremely expensive. I dont mind paying $3.75 for a slice of hot wing pizza because it is so good. Now the cons. The past year the service has been awful. I NEVER rag on servers just because I am very easy going and it takes alot for me to complain. In the past year i have seen several new young waitresses, probably in high school. I dont think they are trained at all. They stand and look at their phone the whole time. EVERY time I order take out and a soda they always forget the soda. The same three girls. If I am in there 10 times in a month, 9 times I have to ask at least twice. If you sit in and dine, even when they aren't busy it takes forever. One time it took an hour and ten minutes for our food to come. 2 coworkers and myself. It was 1 slice of pizza. I got wings. And the other guy got wings also. This isn't an exaggeration. One hour and 10 minutes. Keep in mind there was one other table at the time. Then last week I went in by myself and decided to eat in there to escape work for a bit. I ordered wing bites. I was brought my soda immediately and my order was taken within minutes. Iteatingan entire hour for my wings to come out. An hour for 1 order of wings! It was a Tuesday or Wednesday with NO ONE else in the restaurant. Those two times were the most extreme examples. But it always takes a while and I have dined in maybe 20 times this year alone. There was a lady who worked there when I started my job, around mid 2014 until about a year ago. The service was always great or at least comparable to other similar places. Once she left it has been like this. Now the waitresses are always pleasant enough. But.. I would say they get no actual training aside from a brief overview their first day, because all of them take the same amount of time, always forget your drink and stand in the front looking at their phones the whole time. I feel bad writing this review because they have great pizza, and the Buonos in downtown Scranton is amazing. I am obviously not the only one who feels this way. I guess Im writing this because I am kinda hoping someone takes notice and hires a manager or a head waitress to better train them. I love the wings and pizza and its a heavy traffic area. I gaurentee locals and workers in that shopping plaza would eat their twice as much if they bothered it train. The girls.

ive been going to this place for years and its not worth going to anymore. ever since the server rebecca left a few years ago things have declined.some of the food is still good but some food has changed for the worst,for example the sicilian pizza used to be cooked perfectly but now its a soupy mess and very overcooked hard dark brown crust every time i get it.i will agree with other reviewers that the mild wing sauce is great. SERVICE IS A JOKE! they hire these young girls who do absolutely nothing but stand and talk to each other and be on their phones....dirty tables and customers just sit there unattended and if they do decide to attend to you they are very awkward like they havent been trained at all. i think its time to listen what people have always told me...the one in scranton is the better one.

The best pizza. Great barbecue boneless chicken bites in the city. Actually, anything you order is fantastic. The staff is great.

Let me start of by saying the service was great, I have no complaints there at all. I remember visiting Buona pizza in center city with my dad years ago, and it was delicious. The tray of pizza we ordered was okay, tasted like the same recipe, but it was way over cooked. Almost on the verge of being burned. As you can see the "volcano fries" were pretty a embarrassing experience. Four pieces of prepackaged cheap plastic American cheese that wasn't even melted placed on top of cold fries with some wing sauce on top. And it was about $6 for this, I couldn't believe it when this dish was what was presented to me. I was initially excited to try Buona pizza again after those great experiences that I had with my dad, but I don't think I'll be in a hurry to come back to this one after this mediocre at best experience.
