I just got the beef and cheese and chicken and cheese empanada which were very good. The smell of the other food was outstanding and I can’t wait to go back and have sit down there and enjoy the other foods. Very clean.

Love el latino and try to steer people here all the time. Another great hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Steam table, cafeteria style food is cheap and very, very good. I suggest getting the pork shoulder (comes with crispy skin piece!) rice and beans. Fresh squeezed juices, mango all the way, are delicious and refreshing. The kind of restaurant locals love for its unfussy, delicious and affordable meals.

The value and flavor at El Latino is hard to beat.
Recommend the ox tail, pork shoulder, or fried pork with plantains. Most meals come with rice & beans and a salad or cabbage (try the cabbage!).
I would suggest planning on takeout but there are a few tables available.
It can be slow at the counter as this spot is quite popular and there are many folks that show up for big family orders. There is also a bit of prep put into the dishes so it can take a few minutes to get your food. Fried dishes take longer as they're prepared fresh.
Very authentic food so expect (for example) your ox tail on the bone and fried pig skin along with your pulled pork.
There is sufficient parking in a lot in the back.

Food is good but the portions are small for the asking price in my opinion. Their size large seems like a medium. I bought the large oxtail and they barely gave me any meat it was mostly rice and vegetables for $12. Definitely not worth it. I don't recommend the oxtails not because its not good but because they barely give you anything. Their chicken and pork is good and some of the better choices there.

Love this place! Home-cooked & plentiful food, w friendly seating at long tables. So cool to find a bit of Latin & the Caribbean in Rochester- colorful paint, small, homey, & very clean! Supporting our local businesses is a lot more fun & satisfying than chain restaurants. Thank you to our immigrants for bringing so much great stuff to our culture!
