I have a valid driver's license that expires in a week. I wanted to rent a car today for two days.
They said I had to have proof of renewal if the license expires within 30 days. I showed them an email receipt from DMV proving that my license renewal had been completed.
No deal. Their policy would not allow me to rent a car with a valid driver's license, not even with proof of renewal--they demanded "paper" from the DMV.
This policy and its enforcement were inflexible and intolerable. If I'd tried to rent with an expired license, I certainly understand. If I did not provide proof of renewal AND was planning to have the car past my license expiration, I would understand.
As it is, they lost my business today and future.

I called the number from the Avis response listed below. Basically, they said "it's up to the individual store whether or not to rent to you within 30 days of your license expiration. It's also up to them whether or not to accept your proof of renewal."
In other words, they really don't care if customers are inconvenienced. They reply to negative criticism to make it look like they care, they assume no one will call, and if they do call, Avis "apologizes" for the inconvenience, then rationalizes putting the customer last.
FYI, neither Enterprise nor America's Xpress Rental cared that my license would expire several days after I returned the car.
What ever happened to the old Avis slogan, "We're Number 2, We Try Harder"
I guess what happened is they no longer care.

The car we received was dirty. (It showed sing of previous trip and they did not wash it before they rented it to us). Floor mats were missing on the car and the "change engine oil" was displayed all the time. The staff did not explain all the features of the car we rented (on star/Wi-Fi). Price is good and I would comeback next time just considering that.

This place is great i rent (cars and big vans) at this place. sarah and Rachel do great job here, regardles if the place is small. they always have in stock what i need for my transportation needs. I recommend this place to any car renter custumers.

Awesome staff. Only a couple people but the place is always well organized. Vehicles are clean. Nice cars. Great management. I rent for business travel almost every week. This place is far from home but I prefer to be here. It's worth it. i am in and out quick. Drop offs are fast. Receipts are emailed. Frankly I tried renting from another nonAvis site that was much closer. I switched back to Avis for the service and ease of rental. All i have to do is call them.

Worst experience! Sarah Rei the manager who must own Avis because no one was above her to reference as a manager had horrible customer service. Upon arrival the car they gave us had check engine light on. The second car brakes were horrible. Every car they needed to give us had Check engine light. They asked if we were willing to take it to get an oil change. We were on a tight schedule so we said no. No discount or free upgrade for our inconvenience. We had to upgrade to a nicer car with no check engine light and pay the extra charge. Upon return we filled tank and it wasn't given to us completely full but we decided to fill all the way. We arrive and she states she will have to charge me as it a hairline below full. Unbelieveable! The worst customer service ever! We had to go back to gas station and we recorded the process just in case she was going to say it wasn't full.
