Off the Hookah nowadays is pricey, packed, and pretentious looking. It's the 3rd one in the "Off the Hookah" franchise which comes from Miami FL where this style of club is more common. What it brings to Richmond is fancy professional decor mixed with the ability get the mild relaxation of a hookah and the inebriation of alcohol at the same time in a club atmosphere and some flashy bartender tricks and generic sounding techno/club music.
In terms of uniqueness the decor is mostly ancient Egyptian themed and is looks quite beautiful when the club is empty. On a crowded night you won't notice any of it behind the bustling crowd of people standing everywhere. It'll be so crowded that it'll feel like a traffic jam trying to go from one side of the club to the other. The prices are pretty high, it's around $24 for a hookah at the bar, but if you're willing to fork over the cash for it and the watered down drinks you'll find yourself being entertained by the bartender's bottle juggling and the hot young women strategically placed at 3 dancing positions to give the place the feel of an "awesome good time".
The ebb and flow of people on a busy night are as follows: before 11pm it's mostly women, after 11pm get ready for the sausage fest! This is because of their entry policy. In front of the club there are two lines one for regular patrons on the right and one for hot girls on the left. In the beginning of the night they let hot girls in unabashedly but finally around 11 pm enough men have trickled in through the regular line where the hot girls start leaving because they are presumably tired of being ground upon (past-tense of "big booty grinding").

This place discriminates. They let in who they want to let in. Sneakers aren't allow in who they want to. Mainly white people who can wear flip flops and sneakers. So if you're black just be prepared just the nature of the beast.

My girls & I had a good time here. The layout of the club is interesting. Drinks were expensive.

My experience with Off The Hookah was less than par. My friends and I, who live outside of Richmond, heard so many good things about the place so we decided to check it out. I call to make sure ahead of time that we had all the information we needed to go and have a good time. We park our car in a car garage which cost $5, had no problem with that. So we walk about 1/4 of a mile to the club. We get up to the door and there isn't a line so we think we are good to go. We all try to hand the doormen our ID's and with the biggest attitude in the world the guy says "y'all can't come in". He said that bc my guy friend had on Nike shoes and they don't allow tennis shoe. So I kindly ask him to rely a message to the marketing department and the receptionist to simply make it known that they have a dress code. Once having said that he replied "I don't work in that department" without making eye contact at all. We waited around just to see what happed, n lo n behold a group of guys get to go in all wearing tennis shoes. WTF! So we tried the whole slip and everyone just about the same rule. So we went home after a 45 minute drive there n back for nothing. That's when the $5 parking was an issue for me. Never would I recommend this place for anyone. Your better off somewhere else.
