Illumination Dance Studio is a wonderful place to attend both classes and other events.
I recently attended the Qigong classes there and have enjoyed the class immensely. The instructor is very knowledgeable and interacts well with the students. I intend to continue taking this class, it has be very helpful to me.
I have also attended several of the events hosted by Illumination Dance Studio and enjoyed them greatly.
The studio is in a beautifully renovated building (Dogtown Dance Theater) that is located in a community that is going through a wonderful transformation.
The studio is beautifully decorated and well equipped for both learning to dance and to enjoy the music and dance events that are held there.
You could not make a better choice for learning to dance than choosing Illumination Dance Studio.

Great atmosphere! Cozy, safe, exciting! And Khalima is the best! I have been teaching a movement class in her space since January, and it has been the most seamless and easy business arrangement you could imagine. Khalima bends over backwards to support all the people who teach in her studio, publicizes them on her website, and has tastefully created a little taste of the exotic East right here in RIchmond.

I took my first class session with Khalima last winter, and I'm so glad that I did. I had been wanting to learn more about traditional bellydancing, and Khalima is so knowledgeable and skilled in this area that even just this one 6 week session really blew me away. Even though I was just starting, Khalima took the time to explain things and yet keep the class moving for the others who were a little more advanced. Thanks to Khalima and this studio, I now find myself appreciating dance more, so much so that if you see some weird blond girl dancing in the grocery store, that's may be me! :D

Richmond is so blessed to have this gem of a dance studio for belly dance and all related movement arts and practices. The dance studio is a beautiful and inspiring dance space. Khalima, the owner and one of the instructors, is a very talented dancer and instructor and what is great is she collaborates with other instructors of various styles to offer a great variety of class choices. There's something for everyone.
