I am a new patient waiting on blood test and x-ray results for over a week. I called today at 4:46pm and the office was closed. The office hours state they are open until 5pm on Thursdays. Poor customer service closing your phones early and poor doctor service not calling your patients back with test results in a timely manner. My appt with the dr went fine, this is disappointing.

Dr. Masavarapu is wonderful! She is very empathetic and personable and remembers me as well as my health issues and history with her every time I see her. I usually do not like to go to doctors because I feel that most just shove a prescription on you and force you on your way as quick as possible. Dr. M knows that I don't like to spend a lot of money and knows that I prefer not to take medications, especially if they are unnecessary. While she will mention options, she understands and does not push prescriptions when I decline.

Dr. Masavarapu is an excellent doctor! She has a tremendous knowledge of the overall body. Also her willingness to listen is truly what sets her apart. She helped figure out an illness that I had which was able to really improve my quality of life!

Horrible customer service! Very upset today! I have been a patient here for several years and am usually happy. They have had turnover at the front desk and staff changes. I called for appt because I think I have a sinus infection and they said I could have a 4:15 spot. Traffic normally takes me 30 min - so I left home at 3:30 to have plenty of time, really bad traffic today took almost an hour -- when I arrived front desk staff person said they could not see me it was 4:29 - what happened to patient care - my head is splitting and it is not my fault traffic was horrible. Waiting room was empty and it was 4:29. Front desk lady is normally a very sweet lady - today the girl was unhelpful and said they lose a lot patients this way -- well, I guess so!

I never write reviews but I'm so upset by how I was just treated at Raleigh Adult Medicine that I had to share. I've seen Dr. James once in the past and she was great. This past Monday I called the office for an issue I felt may need to be addressed quickly due to family history and the issue itself. The nurse on call thought it was very important I come in as soon as possible and even said she would get me in that day if I could come in. It was my first week at a new job so I told her the appointment would have to wait until Friday. She scheduled an appointment for Friday with the PA for me. Before we got off the phone she told me that if she issue continued go to Urgent Care after work-- that's how serious she thought it was. Fortunately I was okay until my appointment today. I took the time to check in online and then headed to the office. When I got there an elderly woman up front told me matter-of-factly that my appointment had be cancelled. I was confused since I didn't get a call and was still asked to check in online. She said "well the PA isn't here and there's no other openings" then asked me to go around to check-out, I'm assuming so a scene wasn't made in front of the waiting room. When I went around to check out the woman asked me out-loud, in front of another patient what I had the appointment for. This to me was totally INAPPROPRIATE-- she should be able to go into my appointment and see what it was for or she should have considered that it may not be something I wanted to discuss in front of other people. I told her what it was for and also said it was an emergency appointment. She said she couldn't find any opening then went in the back and got another woman who may have been the office manager, that woman came out and asked AGAIN, ALOUD what I needed the appointment for. I mean, wouldn't you think if you had any tact or empathy at all and you had been the first woman you would have discretely told your boss the nature of the visit? Both woman had a complete lack of discretion and awareness for what their patients are dealing with. That office manager looked through the schedule and couldn't find anything and then said she was sorry that they hadn't called me and I could go to their sister office in Cary or they could get me in Monday. I was so frustrated and turned off with the whole practice at that point that I said would call them back. She told me they double check their bookings so it shouldn't have happened and I'm thinking someone must be completely irresponsible if you're double checking your appointments and you're still cancelling peoples appointments without calling them? I felt like she was apologizing that they didn't call me when they cancelled my appointment but what about the fact that they cancelled my appointment that their nurse thought was worrisome enough that she asked me to come in the same day for?
I know my family members really like Dr. James so I'm not leaving this review as a reflection of her work at all. However, the front desk staff needs a lesson is customer care and empathy. From the elderly woman out front who didn't event apologize for my appointment being cancelled and just threw me into someone else to the two women in the back asking aloud in front of others what my appointment was for, the whole experience was ridiculous.
I called Duke as soon as I got home and now I have an appointment next week with them. I won't be going back to Raleigh Adult Medicine-- although I doubt they care.
