Jimmy is simply the best stylist that I have ever been to. I have fallen in love with him, his awesome team and the salon.
I walked into Gigi a few weeks ago, very hesitant because of a bad color experience that I had at a different Portland salon. Immediately, I knew I had made the right choice when I met Jimmy and realized how educated, experienced and truly talented he is. He made sure that we talked about what I wanted done with my hair and how he would get it there. He was very clear and listened to exactly what I wanted. Jimmy took his time coloring my hair, making sure that it was perfect. I was kept refreshed with tea and educated on product and even received a complimentary hand massage.
Today, I went in for my follow-up appointment to have my hair trimmed and once again I was blown away by the service I received. I am a girl that wants long, luscious hair and hate getting my hair cut but can honestly say that I am extraordinarily pleased with the trim I received. My hair looks so healthy and I was treated to a relaxing stress-relief scalp massage and hot tea throughout my appointment. Going into this place is like stepping into a high end salon and they really treat the customers like royalty. I would go back once a week if only my busy schedule allowed it!

I recently had my nails done with acrylic powder: a special 'winter wonderland' ice theme. I usually prefer a realistic look, so when I walked in to get my nails re-done with just the gel-based polish, I was very excited to get them back to normal. She let me know that it would cost double to remove the acrylic and add the gel again, and I was fine with that - worth it to remove the powder! However, that's not what happened - I was still charged $60 for my nails - twice my usual payment - but she did not remove the acrylic. She asked if I wanted to keep them long, and I said due to the powder my nails would have to be short because of damage. I guess she heard that I wanted to keep them long, but for whatever reason she took off half the powder, and the back (where you would usually get the fill - they don't do any acrylic @ GiGi), so I paid 2x, and because the powder is on the long half of my nails only, it's weighing them down, So only 3 days later I will have to go get them done again, and this time have to pay 2x yet again, because she continually misunderstood what I wanted, and charged me for what she didn't actually do. I will not go back to this place. I am never DT for my nails anyway, but it was my Anniversary that night, so I just paid the girl and ate the cost, but I do not recommend them, and will not go back myself again. On top of all of this, my thumb had a big chunk of the color chipped off tonight. I've never had the Gel/Shellac paint come off before 10 days of wear. My husband is really upset now that I now have to go spend the same amount tomorrow at another nail salon, for what should have lasted me at least two weeks.
