The breakfast was fantastic! I also enjoyed the happy hour. I was only in Portland for a week but went back here a few times so that kind of speaks for itself.
Some of the servers had a bit of an attitude, but overall were pleasant and did a great job.

Woodsman has always been a favorite of mine for breakfast, but since their recent change of menu it’s even better—more flavors have enlivened their previously somewhat narrow selection. The food is always quite good, the Bloody Mary’s still outstanding, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The exposed brick and wood-paneled booths make for a bit of a loud atmosphere, but still very charming.

I've always wanted to go to the Woodsman Tavern! Loved the atmosphere! Cocktails were great! Food was delicious! Loved the meatloaf sandwich! The only negatives - the entrees are extremely expensive, the oyster shooters were disappointing (smallest I've ever had) and the Fried Chicken comes solo. I feel it deserves a side, otherwise it feels like an appetizer. I will return for the atmosphere and to try more affordable dishes for sure!

I'm usually here for the ouster happy hour. The interior of the space is dark, but welcoming. The staff provide excellent service. I've been here with one person and sat at the bar, at a table and with a large group. Always the same level of good food and service. For the large group we called ahead and to us it seemed like we were easily accommodated.

Went here for brunch, it was amazing, I opted for the bucket of fried chicken, side of a cheddar biscuit. The chicken is different, it's salty and kind of sweet in just the right way. The biscuit came with honey/ butter which worked perfectly. I also tasted the taters on my friend's plate, I could eat those as an appetizer. Smoked mussels were great too. House made cream soda was delicate and light. I'm definitely going back here again.
