Our room was spotless and decorated in a nice modern style. The bed was comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, and it is in walking distance of great restaurants and Powell's Books. We would absolutely stay there again.

Very grateful for the kind people at The Mark Spencer Hotel. Plenty of discounts from local restaurants, bars, and shops sweetened the deal. The room was extremely spacious and throughout the day plenty of perks were available in the lobby. Wine, cookies, food...y'all, why are you staying anywhere else in Portland? My only complaint is that I didn't get to meet Mark Spencer because I really want a secret handshake with him. I think it would be as nice as his hotels, staff, and vibe.

Kennedy was absolutely wonderful, when booking our reservations. Kennedy wasn't there at check in our first night, we had a woman that seemed impatient and curt, especially with my husband who has MS, as he takes a little longer to form his thoughts.
The reason we had booked the Mark Spencer Hotel, was for the Pompeii package, we had expected for the $ we had paid the hotel would be more up to date, better staffed, as we were constantly put on hold and just decided to take our own bags down to the lobby as we were told the bell person would be right up to our room only to wait for some time before just deciding to do it ourselves.
Kennedy the front desk person was there when checking out and we cannot stress how phenomenal and helpful he is; he singularly would be the only reason we would consider returning to the Mark Spencer Hotel.

This is one of the best hotels in Portland. The week I was there I stayed in 3 different of the top ranked hotels in Portland (Michael Jordan was staying in one of them if that alludes to the quality) and Mark Spencer by far was the best! Its location is perfect for downtown hanging. The rooms look very recently updated with one of the most comfortable hotel beds Ive ever stayed in! (Im on the road 200+ days a year, believe me when I say these beds are top notch). I would love here if I could. Not sure what else I can tell you that would convey how I feel about this place. It is now my go to when I visit Portland. Make it yours.

This location was awesome!! You're right in downtown Portland. They will give you garage parking if you request it for the same price as what you pay for parking in their street lot. The front desk is very helpful and the food truck lot is located within a half mile. The rooms are spacious and clean and the bed I found to be very comfortable. There was a full size fridge and a moderate size kitchen in the unit I stayed in. I would love to stay here again!
