I believe Pastor Rob is a great man, however I do question his true beliefs. I was searching for an internship for school last year, and since children is apart of my calling and mission in life, I knew interning at Freedom Church would be perfect for me, so did Rob until he saw a music video I made about 4 years ago. My video was pure fun with a biblical meaning behind it. It was a Christmas music video where I sung about not believing in Santa Claus and Christmas should not be centered around Santa. Once he saw this, which I told him about not thinking he would be so offended by it, he called me to tell me it was not going to work out with me interning at the church. He was not even going to tell me why. I had to ask, and that's when he mentioned the video. He rushed me off the phone, like he didn't want to discuss anything about it. I was very shocked and disappointed he wasn't a mature enough Pastor to ask me the meaning behind the video, or even seem interested in what I had to say. I was even more shocked that he was truly that offended by me talking about Santa. What really shocked me was that he didn't even offer me to still be a part of his church. It was like he didn't want anything to do with me. All because I don't believe Santa Claus should be celebrated, I believe Jesus should. I am so thankful God had a great internship set up for me after this disappointment. What has church come to that the leaders worship Santa so much that they get offended if that's not your belief as well? That is so sad. I am thankful God saved me from joining this church. That is just me!

When I first visited I heard the pastor says "we're striving to be a church that loves people no matter who they are, where they come from, or what they believe." I've heard something like this at many churches, but I've never seen it lived out so well! I love that this church welcomes real, broken people. We are purposefully in a rougher part of town, because Jesus Himself lived amongst the poor and intentionally hung out with the prostitutes and tax collectors. We want to see God bring hope and restoration to outer SE! I appreciate that we're encouraged to ask questions and allowed to express doubts. Jesus didn't invite his disciples to convert to some new religion, He invited them to know, love, and follow Him. I am now on staff at Freedom and I love my job! I get to lead worship every Sunday as well as one of our weekly discipleship groups! (we meet in someone's home, read a little from the Bible, ask questions and then pray together). I love being a part of a church that values passionate worship, real conversations, authentic relationships, fun laughter & smiling, and genuinely loving people!

We meet right now at the Marysville School gym on Sunday mornings at 10. They emphasise accepting people no matter where they are in their spiritual life which is good
