Outstanding, overall. The food was amazing. Easily some of the best southern food I've ever had. I had the catfish, my fiancee had the meatloaf. Both were cooked perfectly. Flavorful without being overwhelming and the perfect amount of heat. Service was incredible. We were seated immediately and our orders were taken promptly. Our server (I think he might have been the owner?) was about as friendly as one person can be without going over the top. Checked on us regularly with just the right of cheerful banter -- enough to make us feel welcome and appreciated but not so much that it felt intrusive.
Oh, and do yourself a favor and save some room for the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding.

It's hard for me to buy soul food out because my mother cooks very well. When I need a fix Dylan is it. Crenshaw location is very good as well. Fried chicken or fish, greens, yams and mac n cheese!

The food was very flavorful, but it was lacking ingredients such as chicken, shrimp, and aundoule sausage. There was literally 2 shrimp in the entire bowl of Gumbo and for $17 that was a disappointment. However the banana bread pudding was very good and I don't care for bread pudding of any sort.

Yummy!! Great southern menu! We got the fried oysters appetizer (a little small) & fried chicken dinner (Huge). Both scrumptious! Sat on the back patio in the evening and loved it! Staff & atmosphere were Great!
