I decided to update my rating from 1 star to 4 stars as I had a bad experience the first time I came here, but I went many times after and it became one of my go to bars in Oakland. Cheap drinks and two pool tables. Pretty good place to start the night.

First time here; went in on a Saturday night with a friend and took over 15 minutes to get served at the bar while the 2 bar tenders virtually ignored us. Finally got served hastily made drinks and then headed over to play pool. The crews playing pool and up at the bar were all a bit rowdy and unpleasantly drunk, and were clearly regulars at the bar. Not the type of bar you should go to if you just want a drink and a nice game of pool- or if aren't a regular.

Closing time at exactly 2 am, bought a last beer to finish off my buzz, told me I couldn't leave with it which is understandable, liability and all. So I decided to play some darts while I finished my beer so I could leave. As im playing darts, the bartender comes over and snags my beer which I placed down on the counter in order to play darts obviously. He walked over to the bar and pours the entire beer out, which I just paid for, and took barely about a sip of. I was honestly just throwing some darts to pass the time while I finished my beer so I could leave, and the bartender/bouncer figured that, since I was playing darts I chose to play darts instead of drinking the beer? Keep in mind I just paid full price for a bottled beer and he poured the entire thing out for no reason and then refused to accept the fact that I payed for the full bottle of beer that he poured out. I'm a regular at boots and have never experienced the level of incompetence that I experienced tonight. Will not be giving a dollar to their "business" again. Hope it was worth the beer that you guys completely wasted down the drain.
