I recently brought my problematic emo cat in for a check up, (a lot) of dental work and a few other tests. The staff and veterinarians were super helpful and acted like they truly cared for me and my pet. Once all was said and done, they ended up charging much less than I had expected to pay, and made themselves available for a follow-ups outside of normal hours. They've gone above and beyond for me, therefore I will bring my pet here for as long as I live in Philadelphia.

Just had a consult at University Of Penna. In essence, they confirmed EVERY SINGLE aspect of my dog's (complex) diagnosis and treatment at Girard. While there is some comfort in affirming the plan for my dog's situation, I would suggest you might see this as an important endorsement of a clinic with expertise & loving care at a place that does it's best to keep that care affordable. Love Girard, Dr. Wilkerson, their clinic and staff!

I have seen a lot of negative reviews about this place, but my experience with them in the last few months has been nothing short of amazing (Not to mention the animal hospital I used to take my cats to was $80 just to get into an exam room, so Girard's prices alone have been a breath of fresh air) Unlike Paws, where I can really only go if my cats are well and just need shots, I have taken my cats to Girard when they were sick (they both had kitty colds in the last 3 months) and they were able to treat them and give me their meds while I was there. The technician Albert - that worked with my cats - even gave them their first doses which was awesome, because I had no idea how to get them to take a pill but he took the extra time to show me a few different ways to do it. My cats are also NOT the easiest patients in the world and both Albert and the Vet were so patient with them I was so grateful. The staff in general was very helpful and even though I've owned cats now for over 10 years they told me about stuff that I had never heard before and am very thankful SOMEONE finally let me know. (a little embarassing and frustrating) that no other Vets had ever told me - but at least I know now!) Kitty update: Both of my cats are currently happy and healthy and I will now be taking them to Girard for ALL of their appointments.

I have been here before for other animals, but now that I have my own dog they seem rude and unwilling to help. I called to try to schedule an appointment and get the price for a regular check up and the receptionist acted like she had no idea what a regular check up is. She did not mention appointments either. I was trying to make an appointment and she just kept saying to come to the open clinic. In addition to not giving me any of the information that I asked for it took them hours to respond to my phone call, and the woman was rude, distant, and did not answer any of my questions. Will not be bringing my dog here, especially after reading other reviews about mishandling animals.

Twice now i have had tests done for my dog and no one calls back with the results. The first time i followed up twice. No response even though they said the vet would call me back. I finally had to go in to get the results. The second time i was out of the country when the results were supposed to come in. Again no call. I called multiple times. No call back. I am now looking for a new vet. Someone who takes their job seriously and knows how to manage employees.
