My experience was not only shocking but ridiculous. The ineffective reply mailed to me by the Patient Advocacy stated "matter reviewed and case closed. Despite knowing and openly acknowledging my plans to pursue my grievances to the highest level, my contact with Patient Advocacy was not a threat but a courtesy. Plans for action take time. Meanwhile, society's most vulnerable type of patients are being victimized, disrespected, over medicated, de-humanized and left with little dignity. These so called practices and procedures need to be monitored by a Board of Directors. Volunteers who would work with the staff and interact with patience to simply insure their needs are met and their human rights are protected. I'm not the only one who has filed complaints with Patient Advocacy. I'm just the voice that won't go away.

Only reason for the one star is to leave this review. Went into the ER and was surprised to get in so quickly. We were seated in a dirty room to start off. Dr. Jenkins comes in to rush through my exam. Didn't seem to care what the problem was.
She was trying to push me out as quick as possible. Without a care in the world for her patient, I was forced to sign a paper to bill my insurance for nothing. This used to be a great hospital. I will never recommend Methodist to anyone. OSF has staff with smiling faces and are there for their patients. My family will never step foot in there again!

I had two strokes and when I had my nerve test done, my neurologist told me to talk to my PCP to find out if I would receive disability or not. Shouldnt the responsibility fall on the Neurologist? The office in East Peoria couldn't see that I have a 70% blockage in my brain. Dr. Prescher told me I had to return to work. If I return to work and have another stroke, I will sue UnityPoint Methodist.

I am so over being at this hospital. Never again will my dad come to this hospital. We have been here since Saturday afternoon and he has been in so much pain he is in tears. This man has a high pain tolerance due to losing his leg 30 years ago...when he is in so much pain that he says he would rather have 10,000 pounds of steel fall on his leg again instead of being in the pain he is in now is a problem. None of the nurses are bringing his pain meds in when they are due so they let the pain get so bad that he is shaking and screaming. We have been told every night since we have been here that he was going to go into surgery the next morning and then 3pm the next day they say they aren't doing the surgery, then they throw him back on nothing by mouth that night. This has been an awful experience with no answers as to way he is in pain or why his joints are all swelling.

One star for the exceptional service with the valet staff, one star for the clean and beautiful interior, one star for the friendly cafeteria staff and decent food selection. Two stars lost for the nurse that left my family member's very important IV out for only God knows how long. She kept turning off the Iv alarm and after dozens of trips in and out she realize the cap was still on and it was never attached to him. Ridiculous.
