Terrible service, the restaurant is cozy and the waffles were good, but hell the service is atrocious. I've tried several times to give them a chance, but the last straw was when we had payday drinks and a co-worker's card was given to another patron when picking up the tab. The apathy is palpable... I'm not sad they're closing, they had no idea how to run a restaurant.

If you're an outsider of Olympia and come from smaller, open-minded communities and have a little personal accessory that shows "pride" in your American/European heritage, then Obsidian isn't the place for you. Wether you Want to enjoy food or some decent music..they will take you as an oppressive person.
You will get dogged on and have photos taken of you by childish employees/customers so they'll get their groupies in and get you booted, when you're just minding you own business. Coming from more of a ballsy town like Chehalis, Obsidian or Olympia in general is not the place to have peaceful fun. Portland is more accepting for outsiders like me and my boyfriend. We constantly got harassed.

Awesome staff. Depending on the event can be like a dive bar or a cocktail bar. When there is no event it's a cool place to chill with friends or get writing done. Tasty food, pretty healthy for bar food. Lots of gluten free options.

Quiet place, relaxed vibe. My brother and I were looking for a place to pop in for a quick drink and I wasn't disappointed. The $3 shot-of-the-day offering was great and the guy tending bar was on point.
