The people who run the restaurant are friendly and kind. The place is starting to show some age and look shabby a little. In the bar there is a refrigerator or an ice maker with a noisy compressor and it's distracting. The food is plain and unexceptional. It is not cheap and not expensive, but I did see another table with a steak plate and the steak was over cooked like it offended the chef. It would not take much time and effort to make the restaurant the best Mexican restaurant in Olympia. Get some good beer in, show some Latin America and MLS soccer and some good family style dishes to choose from and people would love it.

Out of my party of 5 (3 adults 2 kids) everybody enjoyed their food, except my son who disliked his child's burrito, wife said it was "too wet and salty". We went because, of the two places in the immediate area, this is the one authentic enough to have horchata, so I was not disappointed. Server was extra attentive, even if the accent was a tad bit thick (even to my wife who is herself Hispanic). The kids meals were extremely reasonably priced, and the cook could be heard singing in the kitchen, so bonus live music.

Wait staff seemed like they were unfamiliar with the way a restaurant works. The food was good not great. I asked to upgrade from beef to steak on my entree and the waitress acted like I was asking for food from another planet. I believe during the day they wait staff doubles as a daycare. There were several unattended to children throughout the dining area.
