I was really sick and was going from hospital to hospital before I landed here. At first I had troubles breathing and then I had really bad wounds, but since I have been here those things have gotten better. I am pretty much off the oxygen all together. My gout still gets worse from time to time, but the doctors are helping me to manage it. I have been here for a while and the staff have been really nice to me. They have become my family away from home. I am looking forward to moving to a rehab facility where I can continue to get wound care and prepare to go home, but I will miss these people.

after over a month at kindred, I was never so happy to leave. too much of their equipment dosn't work. half of the staff including the nurses come across as being inconvenienced by the patients. prison food has to be better and thou they have a new therapist that is great

Nothing like having Brightview cutting down palm trees at 12.a.m. and shredding them outside your window after your wife just had a baby. Poorly executed by management all around. Everyone was trying to sleep!

To be honest, when my son was transferred to kindred I was a little taken aback by the older equipment used and the older style of the hospital floor however don't judge a book by it's cover! My son went there in pretty bad shape and within a 30 day period, what a huge difference. The nurses, respiratory, pt and ot were awesome! My son is 25 but is special needs so he is like a child, they usually don't have patients like him but they listened to me and catered to his needs. Everyone was always polite and welcoming, even the guy JOE who works on the machines! He always checked in on my son. Big shout out to Katie Lodge, your awesome! If your loved one ever has to go to a LTAC hospital, this is the place! Thank you kindred

I made a lot of progress in this facility. I came in on a ventilator, with a wound, and in need of getting stronger. With a week I was off of the ventilator and breathing on my own with only a little oxygen. My wound got better there, but II am finding out that wounds need time to heal. So I am still healing from my belly surgery.

My strength was also a big problem. I could barely roll over by myself in bed. By the time I left the girls in rehab had me walking by myself, dressing myself , and feeding myself. I am still in rehab but I should be going home soon.

Another thing I was impressed by was how much everyone cared about me. They did not even know me but everybody took care of me like I was very special and very important. I know I was one patient among many but I felt like I was special. If I ever get back there I hope they all know how much I am glad they helped me out.
