June and I, go to Lungomare at the Jack London Sqaure waterfront were we once had lovely meal and service earlier this year.
June orders a tea: "This tea taste terrible."
I try the tea, "Oh my god, it taste like it was brewed in a dirty dish rag."
Waiter after we complain about the tea,"Hmm, I don't know why, it's the same tea I brew everyday."
My inside voice, "Maybe you shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a tea bag."
My outside voice, "Can we have a diet coke instead?"
Suffice to say, the tea was an omen of terrible things to come as every aspect of our meal was screwed up either by bad food or bad service, culminating in a manager arguing with me about serving yogurt in a champagne glass but only offering a giant serving spoon to eat it with.

Food ok. Nothing special. Better restaurants around the area. Wait staff are great! You can bring your dog and sit in the patio.

Their Sunday dinners are the best. You get a three-course meal with all you can drink wine. Plus, they have gluten-free pizza and pasta.

I actually thought it was impossible to dislike a breakfast item at a well known restaurant. But it is possible. On Sunday 9/17/17, the host started things off on a sour note. Our impromptu party of about 15 arrived early in the morning not a soul was present the hostess immediately asked if we made a reservation then said she had to check to see if there were any on the books before we could be seated. There were none. She then seated us at two tables that were not side by side but in front and back of each other making communication difficult. We passed right by a long section with two tables that fit us perfectly, we had to asked to be seated there. The hostess was extremely unfriendly and had an attitude of someone who does not want to be employed for any length of time.
As far as the meal there were so many twist on basic breakfast items it was just a bit much. Every time I asked if some of the seasoning or extra fruits etc. could be excluded there was a reason why it could not . The French toast not fluffy at all it was dry and horrible, the sausage and eggs although definitely not scrambled as I asked were good. I would eat there again in hopes lunch and dinner live up to their reputation.

I enjoyed the breakfast and the delightful Bloody Mary. The outside seating was very comfortable with its view of the square and the harbor. I think that the server should've offered to compensate me for the thick black hair that I found in my butter as I was buttering my sourdough toast though. They were apologetic and got me replacement toast and butter. Comping the meal or at least the drink or toast would've been a nice gesture of apology. A $30 meal should not come with course hair.
Other than the hair though, the meal was good. I'd recommend the avocado toast breakfast. And the seating was delightful.
