Great food, great atmosphere, great music. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was it was a bit loud and not a lot of seating options

A near perfect evening: expertly prepared salad starter, fish main, and bottle of wine at Fauna, followed by an apres dinner dealer's choice cocktail at sister bar Fauna. Impeccable service and the decor fits with the names - expect funky botanicals and woodland creatures.

Porkchop dish was excellent! Cocktails are very highbrow, perhaps meant to be enjoyed on their own or perhaps as an aperitif as opposed to being paired with a porkchop...Tried the "Alameda made with Escubar liqueur".. Anywhoo...after the meal, went next door to FAUNA (Flora&Fauna-get it?) ... AWESOME STAFF, lowbrow drankin if you request it, cool music, interesting people who actually interact with whom ever enters!. I'll be back! Flora - to see what's new on the menu, and to choose another cocktail adventure. ♥

This is a gem all around. To start the service is attentive in just the right amounts. They are friendly and know their menu well to be able to make suggestions.

I didn't get to try the cocktails but they looked great and the people drinking them really seemed to be enjoying them. The food was where everything came together. We tried almost all the appetizers. Some had a kick but not too much, others had a citrus focus. They use fruit as a sweetener for the shrimp avocado. The beansprouts were crispy on the outside like they'd been tanned on a tropical beach all day but firm on the inside. They had a little kick that was just right. The Crab cakes tasted like they used fresh crabs and the tarter sauce that came with it was a little spicy too which was with the accompanying salad.

Lastly, the ambiance was just the right amount of Oakland. There wasn't a stuffy feeling about the place. It was complemented by the staff which all had their own look. The experience was really nice and I'm sure this will start to be one of our go to restaurants.

Popped in for lunch without a reservation and sat at the bar (after 25 minute wait). This is a popular place for good reason! Food was absolutely delicious - quality ingredients, perfect preparation, delicious and interesting combinations. Service was absolutely perfect - made us feel like we were regulars.
