I love being part of this faith family…have been a member for over 20 years! Everyone is made to feel welcome. The worship service is led by a praise band, and the pastor sings in the praise band too! He then preaches relevant teaching from the Bible in a way that anyone can relate. One thing I love about this church is it's not stuffy or old fashioned, but is very laid back, casual and accepting of anyone, no matter their past. More importantly they are very serious about what God has called them to do, to spread the gospel message. There are many opportunities to get involved, wether young or old, they provide lots of opportunities for volunteers to get plugged in. They have a ministry called Feeding the 5000. On Wednesday nights they prepare hot meals and take them out to people living on the streets of Portsmouth and to a few area motels. They really care about those they meet and have formed friendships with many of them, while continuing to minister to them throughout the week, not just on Wednesday nights. I would highly recommend this church to anyone looking for a church home wether they are single, married or have families.
