My husband and I have rented bikes here a few times. We had never had problems in the past, but this last time we rented 2 tandem bikes and 1 regular bike for 5 total people for 2 hours. We rode inside Central Park only, on the proper tracks, with no falls. Towards the end, one of the chains randomly broke on the tandem bike while riding. One of the chain pieces had completely broken into half and the bike couldn't be peddled. We all had to walk our bikes for a little over 20min back to the bike shop.
When we arrived and notified them of what happened, the shop owner rudely fined us $50 for the broken chain, when in fact they had lent us a faulty, unkept bicycle. When we told them we didn't feel the $50 was justifiable, he refused to talk to us and refused to give my husband his ID back. Eventually, the cashier girl started bargaining the broken chain fee, down to $15. At that point, I threatened to call the police for soliciting money for no reason. They finally gave up and handed my husband's ID and we left. Needless to say, we will not return.

REAP OFF!!! LIARS !!! DO NOT RENT FROM THAT COMPANY !!! There's signs everywhere showing price for 2 hours - $5 , they tried to charge us $20 per person! After we told them about the street signs they matched the price ! Extremely disappointing! We've been renting bikes from other company few blocks away with newer bikes and way cheaper price! REAP OFF !

We decided to rent some bikes with my girlfriend, we when we were going towards the store we saw yellow signs everywhere showing price for all day $10! When we went in they tried to charge us $40 per person... after arguing they drop the price! STAY AWAY!!! OLD BIKES! GRUMPY EMPLOYEES!

Bikes were ok. Helmets and chains were available. Maps were provided as well. My son's bike had some issues, but it did the job.
The experience was good fun for the family.

A fantastic experience. This was a great way to get the most out of the park. We rode around the entire park and it was not strenuous at all. Our guide Dan was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. My wife insisted we do this, I was not looking forward to it, but I am really glad we did it.
