It is lovely place to have a seat after a nice walk along the water. Have a drink and even get something to eat.

Lovely place. Tends to be crowded on sunny days but the atmosphere and view is just awesome. Plus there is a public restroom!

concerts on the Hudson! Most of the events are free. There is a cafe-restaurant-bar near the entrance to the park. You cannot bring dogs (on the grass) or alcohol into the park. It is a great place to picnic with friends and watch the sunset. You can organize your own event. There are free sunset concerts on Friday evenings.

Beautiful to visit this pier on a nice spring day and soak up the sun on the great natural lawn. It makes you remember how lucky you are to live in NYC. Pier 45 also has a slant so it's easier to see the view of statue of liberty while lounging. Pier 46, just north of Pier 45 is nice also, but only offers turf grass. Go check both out!
