Cozy music venue in the back with occasionally cool acts. Saw Dave Harrington from Darkside put on a great set here. Otherwise pretty run of the mill.

Great great venue, Some of the best events and talent have been at Cameo and the food is great as well! It's nice to have a place where you can feel as if you are a part of what is going on and Cameo is that kind of venue where you can connect with the DJ or band that is playing. It is THE LOCATION IN BROOKLYN that I prefer to hear DJs and have an amazing time with friends. They are always booking great talent and putting together a great experience for people who appreciate good music.
Great great venue, Some of the best events and talent have been at Cameo and the food is great as well! It's nice to have a place where you can feel as if you are a part of what is going on and Cameo is that kind of venue where you can connect with the DJ or band that is playing. I worked at Cameo, and it was nothing but open arms. Bringing in different types of people and crowds to bring moments in time with creative art and magic music! A lot of mixing styles and tastes, trying different stuff without judging and not trying to be one thing, it's really a fusion. Glad it is still around and expanding!

I first heard of Cameo while I was living overseas in Europe and saw that many of the bands I liked played at Cameo when stopping through NYC. So when I moved to Brooklyn, I had to check it out.
I ended up going to Cameo a lot. There's so much about the venue and restaurant that I enjoy. I think they manage to capture the best parts of Williamsburg and Brooklyn in general. The staff is a good team of people--all humble and very passionate.
Their food menu is solid and affordable...same with the drinks.
They book consistently good gigs, bringing in international acts and a variety of genres. You can show up on any given night and rely on the fact that there will be a good show going on. Their dance nights are top.

Cameo is a gallery/event space in the back of a bar/restaurant, so you have to be alert when looking for it. I've been here a few times for dance parties and live music and I've always had a fun time; the crowd is a usually a nice interesting mix and the music is loud. One of these days I will come up with a plan to steal the art piece over the stage, until then I'll keep coming back to get my dance on!
