Delicious!!! The French toast was beautifully presented & tasted amazing!!! The shrimp & grits were definitely worth the trip. The grits were creamy & the shrimp was well seasoned!!! Loved our visit to this place.

Had two starters... crab meat cheesecake $11 and gumbo $9.00; both signature dishes. Both slightly spicy side and interesting flavors. Crab meat cheesecake is mostly like a shredded crab quesh. Both together make a filling meal. Attentive waiters. Ate outside... inside might have been a better choice with the car traffic but it was nice weather. Lots of open seats at 3:30 pm. Did not know sales tax 11% here. More upscale place than the F Quarter bar area.

Update 10/2/17
I returned the next day for dessert and a latte and was disappointed. The waiter brings out my latte with a good portion of it spilled into the saucer. Does he offer to remake it? No! He gets a napkin and starts mopping it up. Did it taste good? No! Could not taste pulled espresso but tasted like a regular cup of just ok coffee. The desserts were decent, creme brulee and a scoop of raisin rum ice cream. Surprised that one scoop of ice cream could cost $6. Finally, I had to asked twice before I could get a glass of water. For their prices the Palace needs to improve their service! Go somewhere else for good coffee.

I had a nice experience during my first visit to the Palace today. I had the Gumbo and it was delicious! For $16, my portion was rather small. The service was slow and a little unresponsive. Overall, I would return because the food is tasty (see updated review above).

Must stop for me when I come to New Orleans. The atmosphere is outstanding and the food quality never waivers--top notch every time (I have eaten here more times than I could possibly count). The service whether on the sidewalk out front or inside is always 5 star. Tonight experienced the best service team in all my visits to the Palace Cafe. Urich & Edward worked seamlessly to provide the most impressive service I have had since the days of the old Smith's Cross Lake Inn back years ago. Dining experience, not eating out -- that is the Palace Cafe.

I came here for my first time with a (very) large group. The staff team that served us we're amazingly attentive with refills on all tables. Entrees took awhile to arrive at our tables but that's assumed when you're with a party as large as our. The food was PERFECT. The pasta was flavorfully seasoned enough to make my taste buds happy! The cheesecake here is also amazing. I had a great time there with great people and can't wait to try back again another time!!! Hopefully our group won't have to be as big as this time around. 😅
