We were very disappointed. The chicken gumbo tasted like coffee. The chicken had a sauce that tasted like the gumbo, probably poured gumbo on the chicken. We are from Florida and eat fish all the time. The black grouper was extremely fishy tasting, which means not fresh. We would never eat there again.

Wow. I don't typically review but this place was great. I had the fried frog legs, which were good and the pork chop which was amazing. Highly recommend this place. Will definitely come here next time I'm in NOLA.

I was in New Orleans last year for a conference and had an awesome experience at Mr. B's. However, coming this year, I called to try and make a reservation and the hostess (or whoever answered the phone) was very rude. Wow -- super disappointing. We will take our business elsewhere, which is a shame because the food is great (the only reason I gave 2 stars). Whoever answers the phone needs to learn a little hospitality and some customer service skills -- not a fan.

Look, the restaurant is really really nice and the food was very delicious. Not trying to downplay the place at all. Just depends on if you're looking for an upmarket dining experience or if you're just looking for a taste of New Orleans.
It's just a bit pricey compared to the local restaurants in the area with similar fare. You're paying for the ambiance I suppose... still, if it's just about food for you, check out a bunch of the local places. The BBQ Shrimp are amazing all over.
By the way - tip.. New Orleans BBQ shrimp are not like BBQ ribs drenched in thick barbecue sauce. They're in more like a light amazingly rich BBQ broth. You have to try it. Also when in Rome you should try the seafood gumbo (another item that's easy to find and less expensive in the neighborhood).

Fantastic dinner. I had the barbecue shrimp and it was messy but absolutely fantastic. My wife had the best pork chop of her entire life. The kids had chicken and hamburger which was just fine by us. The ambience was great and the service was great and we would come back here again and in a moment
